A woman who is already 70 years old, has revealed that she is in fact pregnant with her eight child. Metro UK reports that a 70-year-old woman who claims she is pregnant with her eighth child could become the oldest mother in history if she gives birth in three months’ time.   Maria de la Luz, from Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico, believes she is six months pregnant with a baby girl and says she has the ultrasounds to prove it.   Despite not giving away any details of the pregnancy, including whether she had IVF treatment, Maria says she first suspected she was pregnant three months ago.   She said:  ‘My legs hurt and I was vomiting and felt dizzy. JAMB sets May 26 for rescheduled examinations for over 12,000 candidates

Bwari (Abuja) – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Sunday said that it had set May 26 for rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) for more than 12, 000 candidates across the country. The Board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja. Conduct post-UTME tests, risk court contempt, group warns varsities

Oladimeji Ramon A group, Legal Defence and Assistance Project, has warned tertiary institutions against conducting post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination tests for candidates seeking admission. LEDAP, in an open letter by its National Coordinator, Mr. Chino Obiagwu, on Wednesday, warned that any tertiary institution conducting post-UTME test risked being cited for contempt of court. According to Obiagwu,LEDAP had obtained a court judgment in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/979/15.   barring universities,polytechnics and colleges of Education from conducting post-UTME tests for candidates seeking admission.  Obiagwu explained that the defendants in suit won by LEDAP were the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board,Minister of Education and National Universities Commission. A teenage Nigerian woman seeking for admission has reportedly taken her own life after securing a very low UTME score.  An admission-seeker simply identified as Loveth has reportedly killed herself in Ekiugbo, Ughelli North local government area of Delta State.   According to The Nation, Loveth, who was said to be displeased with the 163 mark she garnered in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), was found dead at her home on Wednesday morning.   Before her death, she had applied to study medicine in the university. A major fracas broke out amongst Nigerian law enforcement agencies in Abuja on Wednesday, after an attempt to seal a Road Safety office went awry. PREMIUM TIMES learnt that the violence broke out after soldiers and policemen attached to The Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) tried to serve the Road Safety office in Wuze Zone 7 a violation notice. The police officers and soldiers attached to the AEBP officials allegedly assaulted a female Road Safety marshal in the process, leading to confrontation. The AEPB task force members denied assaulting the Road Safety personnel, saying they were resisted from sealing the Road Safety office as ordered by a magistrate’s court. During the fight, a soldier was reportedly wounded and a civilian staff of the AEPB was “taken hostage” by the Road Safety marshals. JAMB Registrar speaks on cut-off marks, breakdown of registered UTME candidates

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that cut-off points are not set by the body. The exams will begin on Saturday May 13, 2017 .   He explained that a policy committee chaired by the Minister of Education, with the Board, Vice-Chancellors, Provosts of Colleges of Education and Polytechnic Rectors as members, is saddled with the task. The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, said this at the news briefing on Tuesday in Bwari, in preparation for the conduct of this year’s UTME. He described cut-off points to be a minimum requirement and not an indication that one was admissible.
